df47 |aDear Abbé Gezelle, I hear you have called & left without any kind or satisfactory answer - So I write aline to explain. I was taken ill the day before yesterday, & owing to overexertion {<=&c>[=etcetera]} - unfortunately had a miscarriage - It has of course left me very weak, & I am obliged to keep my bed or the sofa for some days - I told the woman to let you know, as I should not be able to go to Mass tomorrow, & am obliged to pay no attention to fast or abstinence days & I wished your sanction. I should not like to remain many days without going to confession & communion - Is it allowed here in case of sickness without danger for a Priest to come & hear my confession - And if you hear my confession will the Curé expect to come & give me communion - & what are the customs necessary to attend to, both as regards preparing the room, & what money to be given. I like to know all before hand, though if I am soon well I will avoid all trouble - {<=Yrs>[=Yours]} sincerely MC. Kavanagh
