|aDear Father. I have written to {<=yr>[=your]} Sister today and have proposed a visit to her if she will say what day will be most convenient for her to receive me. I have a place in my head which I think would be of mutual benefit to us both & which I have proposed for her consideration I have always wished to have my poor afflicted boy entirely under my own care. and I think if I could get a small cottage {<=nr>[=near]} {<=yr>[=your]} brothers at Lendelede I would go & live there & by way of companionship give your Sister a home I have told her at present I could not give her a salary but that we could take some needle work in do it together & she should have all the profits for her dress &c James is not so bad to manage now & my own stock of patience has improved my only desire now being to work for God & do my duty I will have enough with care to keep the trio & I think we will get on very well she likes me & I like her & {<=yr>[=your]} sister minds pretty well what I advise her she has made me her confidante all along & I have always given her good advice though I never breathed it to another Soul so any thing you [+say] to me you may be sure I will treat as sacred & surely you may trust my discretion I would do any thing for you to serve you in the love of Our Blessed Lord. So think over this & let me know when I may see you on the subject of my letter {<=yrs>[=yours]} in {<=Ct>[=Christ]} C S G |
